Max is at one point described as Gus' 'boyfriend' by Lalo, and Gould built on this revelation as he commented: "Gus is holding onto his rage, his desire for revenge, and maybe he's holding onto this romance that he had, with his boyfriend Max.
Though this is the first time Gus' sexuality has been directly addressed, many fans aren't surprised to hear the news after watching his scenes in Breaking Bad and Better Call Was gus gay.
